WOOD BLINDS

Wood blinds are a timeless and elegant window treatment choice that brings natural warmth and sophistication to any space. Made from real hardwood, typically basswood or other high-quality woods, wood blinds are a durable and stylish option that complements both traditional and modern decor. Their slatted design allows for easy control of light and privacy, and the natural wood grain adds rich texture and depth to a room.

Real Wood, Real Benefits

  • A three-step drying process and a strict adherence to quality standards guarantee the straightest possible wood components
  • Graber craftsmen skillfully apply vibrant stains and environmentally-friendly water-based paint finishes for a stunning look
  • Our wood components are carefully constructed with the highest degree of quality and attention to detail

Commitment to Sustainability
Our Great Lakes-based foresters practice sustained yield forestry management and send their green lumber to our responsibly-managed sawmills in Grayling, Michigan—the heart of basswood country. Lightweight, rigid, and boasting richly distinct grain, basswood is the premier North American hardwood used in the construction of blinds.

The green philosophy continues at the Graber wood processing plant where recycled sawdust and wood shavings are used to generate the heat required to dry lumber and warm the facility.

Applications of Wood Blinds:

  • Living and Dining Rooms: Wood blinds add a sophisticated, warm ambiance to main living areas, offering an inviting feel that enhances both casual and formal spaces.
  • Bedrooms and Offices: Wood blinds provide excellent privacy, making them ideal for bedrooms and home offices where a calm and private atmosphere is desired.
  • Low-Humidity Areas: Since wood is sensitive to moisture, wood blinds are best suited to low-humidity environments. For kitchens and bathrooms, where high moisture can be an issue, faux wood blinds are a better alternative.

Additional Customization Options:

  • Color and Finish Choices: From natural wood tones to painted options, wood blinds come in a range of colors to match any interior style.
  • Slat Sizes: Different slat widths allow you to adjust the level of visibility and light control. Wider slats create a more open, shutter-like effect, while narrower slats are better for smaller windows.
  • Decorative Tapes: Cloth tapes can be added to cover the strings between the slats, adding a decorative touch and customizing the look further.

Wood blinds bring timeless elegance, functional design, and a natural aesthetic to interiors, making them a versatile choice that enhances comfort and style in any room.

Key Benefits of Wood Blinds

Natural Beauty and Warmth

Wood blinds add a touch of nature indoors, bringing warmth and elegance to any room. The variety of stains and finishes enhances the natural wood grain, creating a refined look that suits diverse design styles.

Durability

Made from high-quality, solid wood, these blinds are built to last. They’re durable and resist warping, making them a long-lasting option for window coverings. However, because they’re made of natural wood, they’re best used in low-humidity areas.

Excellent Light and Privacy Control

The slats of wood blinds can be easily tilted to allow for just the right amount of light and privacy. When closed, they provide significant privacy and block out most light, while tilting them allows natural light to filter in without direct glare.

Energy Efficiency

Wood blinds offer natural insulation, which helps keep rooms cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The wood acts as a barrier against outside temperatures, potentially lowering energy costs.

Customization Options

Wood blinds come in various stains, finishes, and slat widths to suit any room style and window size. Whether you prefer a classic white or a dark espresso finish, there’s a wood blind option to match your decor.

Eco-Friendly Choice

Many wood blinds are made from sustainably sourced wood, making them an environmentally friendly window treatment option.
